No Reward.....Except that one job.

Though my second job came to an end and my third "job" miserably failed I still wasn't working at fast food and I was happy. To give this part of my story some context I will jump back one year to the prior summer. I had started to build up some funds with my phone book delivery job and wanted to attend the National Scout Jamboree. (Remember I won't have fallen away from Scouts until I was 24) Skip back ahead to the next summer, the Summer of 2010, I was able to go to the National Scout Jamboree on staff. It was such an amazing experience that I got to trek around by myself. The week prior to this, paid in advance, event was when I started the worst "job" ever. In Ohio where I lived and grew up, we lived in Harrison County. That year there was a work program started in our county called "Green Corp.". It was said at the beginning of the program, "If you work the entire program; you will receive $5000 toward schooling or a cash check if you don't have plans for schooling." Sounds attractive doesn't it? Well because I "Didn't work the first week...." (because of Jamboree); I didn't "work" the whole length of the program. Other people called off, some took maternity leave, and others dropped out. Nobody was "awarded" the money. Frankly we thought it was a scam. Later we found out that the leader was not even finished in her own degree, made that FALSE promise and treated all the employees like the scum of the earth. The only good that came out of the "program" was one of my most favorite jobs I had. MyLocalPCPro was a local computer repair shop on the main corner in Cadiz Ohio. I got to work as an apprentice, during the program, to the owner of the shop. Through the summer I would clean and organize the shop and earn a place at a work station. My boss there was the best. He saw the potential I had and started to teach me more and more. I still retain all the knowledge he shared with me. It made me love computers even more. Eventually good things come to pass. But in this case it was for a good reason. After I had worked an entire year at the shop, I eventually chose to go to college.
