2 Years of Fake Christians

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

When arriving in Danville at Rushmore Baptist church, We thought this is it we will pastor a church and have a good life. Ironically it was the exact opposite. The church was run by one family (Not God) and they controlled everything. 90% of the congregation was that family and the treasurer was one couple (Related through marriage to the other family). They didn't want children in the service, they expected my mother to play piano, and they wanted my dad to preach what they wanted to hear. It was a very toxic church. Mom and Dad tended a garden and worked hard at trying to get the church to realize their faults. My sister and I were flown to Arizona to visit my grandma and grandpa. With us gone for 6 weeks, that freed Mom and Dad up to take care of my brothers, make some heavy decisions, and pray for guidance on what to do next. Mom and Dad started to look for new work and found a "Christian Horse Ranch" in Ohio. Altogether it was about a 6 hour drive just an hour west of the Ohio River. The Ranch was lively when we arrived, and only just. The Owner of this horse ranch was Bill Wiley. He was very hardheaded and stuck in his ways about many things. My parents, originally, were hired for Youth Ministry, which didn't even exist when they came there. My dad became 1 of the maintenance people for the entire Ranch. "Faith Ranch" was the worst place we probably worked because of the fakery of the leadership. Mom and Dad again started looking for a new place to live and new job. I started Boy Scouts, Mom found a house, and Dad found a job. It was a breath of Fresh Air.
